Come on- the song is called "Fido, Your Leash Is Too Long", I think you're taking this a little too seriously. So let the guy make some money, already. He deserves it after years of super-prolific songwriting.
Goddamn those capitalist savages in the pet-food industry.
It's about time that MF fans have to suffer with the rest of us while their musical heros become known as "the band with the song in that one commercial."
Sure it's not "I Think I Need a New Heart"?
Eee, you might be right. PS I didn't write the previous "Courtney" comment.
You mean Courtney taylor-taylor is lurking on your blog? What a hands-on boss.

Fuck Stephen Merritt. If his songs don't mean anything more to him than selling dog food, why should they mean any more to me? I know that rationalizing the act of selling out is huge among artists and musicians right now, but I'm calling bullshit on it. I'm an artist, and if the Gap called and offered me $75K to use my shit in a print ad--I don't know. I'd certainly be tempted. But I'd like to think that my art, which I've given the better part of my life to, has a higher purpose than shilling overpriced flipflops.
