Fashion Nolita’s Party/Trunk Show/Sale

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Thu, Oct 19 at 4:52 PM

I am one of those types that must write everything I need to do in my dayplanner, or else it won’t be done. Including Christmas shopping. If you are the same way, you might be interested in this:

“JEANS & GEMS” at the Nolita Denim Bar Date: Thursday, November 16th Time: 6PM

JEANS & GEMS is an exclusive event for you and your friends on November 16th at the Nolita Denim Bar! Preview the coolest winter jewelry from Kevia Jeffrey, Ruby Spinel, & Winifred that will be hot, hot, hot this Holiday Season! Meet the designers of these local jewelry lines while sipping champagne and nibbling delicious hors d’oeuvres from Sungari Pearl. Nolita will have experts on hand for a one-on-one consultation to show you the best brands and styles of jeans to fit your figure. To top it all off, Nolita will be having a SALE for the evening! There are great gift ideas for men & women like cashmere sweaters, jeans, and tees. As always, complimentary gift wrap and gift registry (don’t forget about yourself!) are available.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. This event is limited to 40 people. To purchase tickets call (503) 274-7114. Reserve your spot now!

I am assuming that because you have to buy a ticket to buy things that the discounts are DEEP.

(By the way, that’s a cigarette jean, not a skinny jean [from AG jeans, one of the many denim lines carried at Lolita]. The difference is huge.)

Yeah BIG difference. Pff.

Okay, smarty pants… what's the BIG difference?

well, actually, they were always called 'cigarette jeans' in the mid-late 70s. so historically, the term is correct (if that matters). we never called them 'skinny jeans', ever. and the term 'cigarette jean' was one i picked up in london, not anywhere around here.

Actually there is a difference in the fit. A cigarette cut has a much higher hem at the ankle, whereas the skinny jeans that everyone is freaking out about are cut longer in the leg, so they have that scrunching, bunching effect.

Ding ding ding! Diana wins!
