Portland Mercury Blizzard Watch 2006!TM

Posted by Amy J. Ruiz on Mon, Nov 27 at 12:01 PM

OMG IT MIGHT SNOW! Or it’s already snowing, depending on where you are.

From a friend working in Clackamas: “It is like SNOW STORM here, huge snowflakes, it is almost completely white outside now.”

Here at Mercury Blizzard WatchTM HQ—NE 21st near Sandy—it’s not even raining. I just saw the sun. How boring.

Help us track the storm in the comments. Anybody have enough snow for a snowman yet? If the white stuff is dumped on Portland, where do I go for the best illegal street sledding?

Hail! We've got hail!

It just started snowing downtown.

Nothin in the Couve.

Come over to my house near PCC Sylvania for street sledding if we get some accumulation, Amy. Pretty much anywhere with hills has great street sledding, since hardly anyone drives on snow and ice. It may not be illegal, even - you're allowed to skateboard on streets outside of downtown, and a sled is just a skateboard with really worn down wheels, right?

webcam from the entrance to the hellway bomb, ie the zoo exit.

zoobomb is like sledding because you're sliding on your ass at least 50% of the time.

Gus Van Sant was devirginized last night! That's T-U-F-F, tough!

Dudes it's like -12F in Calgary right now. With wind chill it's -35. The snow doesn't even melt, it just squeaks.

I remember being excited about snow...
