Mercury Amy Jenniges: Devoted Mother, or Creepy Dog Stalker?

Posted by Scott Moore on Thu, Jan 4 at 1:50 PM

I thought the Pillow Angel thing was creepy—until I found out that my esteemed colleague, Amy Jenniges, has a webcam set up on her laptop so she can watch her dog, Posey, at home. Posey has apparently been sleeping all day in her crate. (Matt Davis thinks Posie snapped a Polaroid of herself and stuck it in front of the camera to evade observation.)

OMG, Amy was just calling her name and whistling—she’s now asking the dog questions over the webcam—and Posey is finally waking up.

This is getting weird.

Oh, don't worry Scott. This is just an experiment in whether she's ready to be home alone (a very scientific experiment, complete with observation of whether or not she sleeps all day, or if she immediately starts to pee on stuff). I'm sure she'll be back in the newsroom tomorrow, pestering you as usual.

Is Matt Davis going to slaughter and eat that dog and then write about it?

Nah, Matt likes Posey. Though if pressed, he has admitted she'd be the one he'd kill if he had to kill someone in editorial (it's a little game one of my esteemed colleagues came up with).
