News Firefighters Allegedly Beat Man Thursday Morning

Posted by Amy J. Ruiz on Fri, Jan 12 at 7:32 AM

A few Portland firefighters allegedly beat a man Thursday morning. The Oregonian has the full story, and video of the incident—firefighters pulled 48-year-old Terry DeGeorge down the ground in the lobby of his downtown apartment, and another firefighter kicked him several times. The fire department, which will review the video this morning, says DeGeorge was threatening the firefighters, who were there on a medical call.

Boy, this Firemen vs. Police rivalry has come a long way. They just couldn't let the boys in blue have all the fun, eh?

Dear BlogTown, when you delete posts (yeah, I know, Matt Davis also mentioned the same story), it screws with us RSS feed readers, who don't follow links from the BlogTown home page. I've been trying to comment on Matt's post (where there was some discussion getting started, such as it was) for some time now and kept getting errors. Now I know why. Message: don't do that anymore!

Also, it's weird that you deleted the post with seven comments in favor of the story with one.
