News Chasse family will sue.

The family of James Chasse, jr will announce its federal lawsuit against the city of Portland this afternoon at 1.30pm, as predicted in this week’s Mercury.The family is being represented by civil rights attorney Tom Steenson, pictured above, left, with Chasse’s father, James Senior, at a press conference last October.

Steenson has accused the police bureau of lying to the public over Chasse’s death and of “spinning it” to protect its officers. We’ll have full coverage of the announcement and follow-up analysis on Blog Town this afternoon.

wonder if PPA President Robert "the Lying Roberta" King as
well as PPB Officers Kyle "not so nice" Nice and Christopher
"the Killer-Kop" Humphreys will help the City of Portland pay
off this judgment that the family of James Chasse so rightfully
deserve, or will they hide yet again behind their ham-handedly
constructed BLUE WALL OF LIES?

I say damn their lying asses and I hope I'm picked to be on the
Jury that hears this case as it's a LEGAL SLAM DUNK as far as
I'm concerned...blank check, fill in the amount desired!

As a taxpayer, I can't stand that I have to pay for police incompetence. I DESPISE it!

As a parent and citizen, I want to see the bastards responsible pay until they bleed.

What the hell is it going to take to reign in the Popo reign of terror and incompetence?

We pay these so-called police to be 100% professionals. There must be zero tolerance for their murderous zealotry with deadly weapons.

Previous lawsuits have targetted the police force for payment of the settlement and not the officers, who would not be able to pay the amounts requested. Too bad, it is much too easy for officers to continue with their behavior when the costs of the lawsuits get covered by the taxpayer.

I think every suit should have at least a component of fining the individual officers involved, to the extent that they would be able to turn up the money.

Perhaps that amount would be enough to wake up Potter and Suzie. I hope the Chasse family winds up owing Portland!
