Gross.

this article lists heroin as more dangerous than both alcohol and tobacco - so maybe burroughs lived longer because he eventually cleaned up, or maybe he had better genes or maybe he just was more lucky (or less lucky depending on your perspective).

good point - it's actually all the other crap that gets cut into the street stuff that makes it more dangerous.

i'm sure burroughs had access to the medical grade stuff which is actually really good for you in non-fatal doses. relaxing and stress reducing, it can turn a grey day into a who cares it's a grey day day.
