You're probably right, especially since they like to blanket an area and currently there's one across the street.
WHAT??? Where else would they even want to go? That spot is great!

opps. i'm an idiot. and blogtown isn't running very fast today nor is my patience.
I think they would have eventually been kicked out anyway as the owner of that block is converting it into condos above and a mixed use arts space below.
That's sad. I hope they're not being forced to leave because of rent increases or something. After all, the Red and Black played a large part in regenerating 21st and Division in the first place.
It's sad to see my quirky old neighborhood being taken over by Starbucks and their ilk.
I remember when it was the Flying Saucer.
It won't be Starbucks...
IT'LL BE CONDOS!!!! WITH STOREFRONTS!!!!
(any bets)?
And, by the way...Division did not need "regenerating"...I think you meant Gentrification.
As a lifelong resident (almost) of 20th and Clinton, the only good all this regenerating (spa and New Seasons) did was make traffic worse when idiots CANNOT SEEM TO FIGURE OUT THE TRAFFIC CONFIGURATION.
i hope the new locale is more bike-friendly. division and that intersection are shite for bikes.
it is a shame because places like that are what make this city interesting. places who go out of their way to hire people who are legitimatly eccentric should be appreciated but still part of me is happy because that is the only place in portland where employees treat me like shit when i am trying to pay for my order with money so many weird dirty looks, like "who do you think you are?" and shit... or their like "hold on i will get to you" then turn around and spend 10 minutes putting shit away in that small refrigirator...
Thank you for your cooperation. You will be assimilated shortly.
Cheers to Salinger for actually hitting the nail on the head i.e., regeneration not needed, nothing fucked up to begin with...
Welcome to Lents Red and Black. Bike friendly, cheap rent and working class. Seriously. I need some coffee and vegan carrot cake within walking distance.

I predict the space will become a Starbucks.
