Fashion Catwalk 2007: Part One

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Mon, Apr 30 at 9:12 AM

Saturday night was the annual Boost Foundation runway event: Catwalk. I went last year as well, and this year’s event held many of the same bizarre similarities: Lots of glamazonian-sized women with a quarter-pound’s worth of makeup on, fake ‘n’ baked and Botoxed and boob jobbed out to their ears. One wonders where these women live. I never see them walking around town. I suppose the customary thing to do is blame Lake Oswego. Nonetheless, free food and booze abounded, and we found plenty of companionship among others who’d been admitted as press. I seemed to know everyone who had gotten in for free and zero of the ticket holding population. But the main event, the runway show, I was really anticipating, most notably the collection from Anna Cohen. At 30 looks, it was more Cohen than I’ve ever seen at one time. Portland’s strongest export into the international fashion community has been getting a ton of important press; just last night I read her name in Vogue, along with the new PDX based activewear company Nau, in an article about “ethical fashion.” I took a ton of pictures, to be continued after the break. And BONUS! I got a crappy photo of the most inexplicable celebrity sighting of the night: Josie Bissett, from Melrose Place! I’ll have to split up all my Anna Cohen photos in this post, and I’ll post a second entry with some Souchi pictures (my other favorite of the night).

where's the melrose place lady?

Don't worry, she's coming. I'm putting another post up this afternoon with all the pictures that *aren't* of Ann Cohen's line…

Yeah.

I don't know if I believe it when you say you saw fake boobs.

I'm going to need some pictures for proof.

where is part two?
