A little over a week ago, I met with front man John Roderick of the Long Winters, while the band was in town to play a show at the Doug Fir. We talked for awhile about touring, his most inspiring life moments, robots with super powers, red clam chowder, and much more. If you’re interested in hearing the interview, plus a handful of songs off the Long Winters’ latest album, Putting the Days to Bed, you can do so over here on our pod-n-vod page.

I hate this band. We saw them open for Clem Snide at Berbati's. They weren't fit to scrub Clem Snide's shoes but they kept saying snide stuff to us like, "You're not really into us, are you, Portland? Maybe it's 'cause we're used to playing for cooler cities." Go back to Seattle, you fat furballs.
I saw them play when they came through town on the 13th, and thought they were really great and pretty charming. I kind of get the impression Mr. Roderick likes to play the part of the prick, but it's all just an act.
