You wouldn’t think Portland would want a pro-life, pro-death penalty, anti-civil-union fifth generation Mormon as president of the United States, would you? But it turns out, Mitch Romney is Portland’s kind of guy…
ROMNEY: Oozing his unique brand of heterosexual, post-marital, wish-he-was-a-polygamist sexual charisma…
Here’s the first 20 of 334 presidential contribution donations from Portland, as listed on the New York Times
website (if you know any rich people, tap in “Portland”, and “City” in the search…see if you can spot their names…)
As it turns out, there are a surprising number of donations to Romney’s campaign coming out of our city. And less than expected for, say, Hillary and Barack. Wannabe Republican Governor Ron Saxton gave $2,300 to Romney, while Columbia Sportswear’s Peter Bragdon gave $2,300 to John Edwards. My personal hero is a chap called John Denhart, who despite listing himself as “not employed,” gave $1,000 to Barack Obama. That’s more fucking like it…
It also looks like someone gave Mitt -$1000. That's my kind of donation.
Oh that's Tom (not John) Denhart former owner of Hanna Andersson and all around good guy.

There's a decent population of mormons in this city, and they are already used to giving up 10% of their income in the form of tithing...
