« Good Morning, News | Main | Legislature Kills a Bill That Would Have Made it Easier to Open a Bar »

I hate British music/gossip rag NME for pimping empty genres like “new rave” and for endlessly hyping such useless bands as The Vines, Gay Dead, etc. But I have to give them some credit for the racy Beth Ditto cover of their current issue. Would any national music publication in the States do the same thing?
Judging by the airbrushed Amy Winehouse on the current Rolling Stone and Spin covers, I doubt it.
That cover is seriously forcing me to reconsider my definition of humor and body image.
36-24-36? Only if she's five-three.
This is wonderful, I want to something like this happen in the U.S.
I forgot to say "see", as in "I'd like to see something like this happen in the U.S."
She goods look but inside the interview she blames size zero expectations on "gay men in the fashion industry".
i've said it once and i'll say it again: Beth Ditto is a fucking idiot.
Gay men in the fashion industry? That's utterly retarded. It's a much bigger problem than that.....
I applaud NME for having the balls to show off an incredibly talented woman for exactly what she is. Beauty comes in many forms and I love that Beth bared it all to help prove that point.
I'm not really sure what she's trying to prove....Yes we know you're fat, and yes you don't shave your armpits. That's nothing to be proud of it's just showing off the fact of how little dignity you care to really display, gosh....Great vocalist though, i'll give her that, sure she's a nice person, but it's all just blatant publicity and attention seeking gimmicks.

Oh my, nevermind the airbrushing, these magazine put so much type on the cover it gives me a headache. whatever happened to bold simple and iconic magazine covers?
