Woo hoo! Golly gosh! An entire month dedicated to the visionPDX project!
Starting today and going through June 19, the draft report of Mayor Potter’s visioning project will be available for review and comment online (not yet!) and at a series of open houses.
The report, which cost the city around $1.5 million, combines the hopes and dreams of 13,000 Portlanders. (Originally, the goal was to get 100,000 responses.) If you do the math, that means that each completed survey cost the city around $115.
Here’s where you can review the draft:
Monday May 21, at Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc. (SWNI), Multnomah Arts Center Auditorium, 7688 SW Capitol Highway, 6 to 8 pm. Trimet Buses # 44 & 64.
Tuesday May 22, at Southeast Uplift (SEUL), Fireside Room, 3534 SE Main St., 5 to 8 pm. Trimet Bus # 14.
Thursday May 24, at North Portland Neighborhood Services (NPNS), Historic Kenton Firehouse, 8105 N Brandon, 5 to 8 pm. Trimet Buses # 4 & 6.
Tuesday May 29, at the East Portland Neighborhood Office (EPNO), Meeting Room, 1017 NE 117th Ave., 5 to 8 pm. Trimet Buses # 25, 71 & 77.
Wednesday May 30, at Neighbors West/Northwest (NWNW), Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital, North and South Conference Room, 1015 NW 22nd Ave, 5 to 8 pm. Trimet Buses # 15, 17, 77 and Portland Streetcar.
Thursday May 31, at Central Northeast Neighbors (CNN), Meeting Room, 4415 NE 87th Ave., 6 to 8 pm. Trimet Buses # 12 & 71.
Wednesday June 6, at the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods (NECN), 4815 NE 7th Ave, 5 to 8 pm. Trimet Buses # 6 & 72.
There was a bunch of highly-designed marketing-like brochure stuff that got document dumped onto the city website the other day.

Last I heard the responses were pretty much along the lines of "the city is spending too much on things like the tram and south waterfront and not enough on basic services". Is that still the gist of it?
