Politics Jerry Falwell: DEAD

Posted by Scott Moore on Tue, May 15 at 10:41 AM

From MSN.com:

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Rev. Jerry Falwell — founder of the Moral Majority and the face of the religious right in the 1980s — died Tuesday after being found unconscious in his office, a Liberty University executive said.

Ron Godwin, Liberty’s executive vice president, said Falwell, 73, had been found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but noted that Falwell had “a history of heart challenges.”

I hope the Mercury office has flood insurance, because these tears are flowing.

Comments

Falwell had “a history of heart challenges.”

Something of an understatement.

But what I'll mainly remember are the good times-like on 9/11 when he blamed the attack on gays and the ACLU.

Stay classy, Jerry.

I hate to laugh at the deceased, but HA HA HA, see you hell, fucker.

Promoted to glory, so to speak.

I always thought the Rapture was going to be a much bigger deal.

Oh, well. Now that the One True Christian is gone, I guess it's time for some Tribulation!

In memorandum of Falwell's death, perhaps a few choice quotes of his are in order. You know, to remind us what a complete and utter rat-faced douchebag he was:

"Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions”

“AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals”

“The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country”

“If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being”

“Textbooks are Soviet propaganda”

“[homosexuals are] brute beasts...part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven.”

“The ACLU is to Christians what the American Nazi party is to Jews

And perhaps his most famous:

(re: 9/11 attacks) "...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the thing in their face and say you helped this happen."

If only there was a hell. Because that son of a bitch would have earned a toasty spot there.

"[...]Falwell had 'a history of heart challenges.'"

Chief among them: not having one.

"But what I'll mainly remember are the good times-like on 9/11 when he blamed the attack on gays and the ACLU."

Oh, that's completely unfair, Donnie.

He also blamed feminists.

His distorted theology seemed to think that "bad things" happened because some
"bad group" had pissed-off God Almighty!

OK...if one accepts this, the question now
arises>>>WHAT DID JERRY DO TO PISS-OFF GOD
to the point that God zapped Jerry out of
here?

Moral of the story>>>theology does have
consequences, so be careful just which
one you're going to put your faith in!

Jerry meet Tricky Dick.

Tricky Dick meet Jerry.

He saved you a seat by the fire, near Reagan.

And the bestest part? Fred Phelps is planning to protest Falwell's funeral.

Dude, they should pay-per-view that shit.
