Mercury New Blogtown Look!

Posted by Amy J. Ruiz on Tue, May 1 at 3:44 PM

Check it out—we spiffed up Blogtown! And entries are now wider, so you don’t have to scroll as much—freeing up your index finger for much more important uses.

Carry on.

You went red for May Day? Frickin' commies.

Oh goddamn it. Please put that picture of Mayor Beaver back up there. He just looked so proud of his big golden key.

Or just put it back up, just one more time for me, please?

If you hurry, google still has it cached.

There might be more room for ads. Not sure, though.

Don't like the new logo at all. Looks like a bad comic book title.

can't... get... index finger... out of nose...

Is this your slogan for the next Council run?

b!X,
All except the nose part.

you can tell that it's spiffy because of the
\E\X\T\R|U|S/I/O/N/

Now when will you add "recent comments," "most commented" and "most viewed" features?

Meh. On my small (1024x768) laptop screen, the new design means that the content of any entry page (that is, the entry I came to read) doesn't start until about 80% of the way down the first screen. Annoying.

Amusingly, there are also about seven screenfuls of side-column ads flanking the blank space below this comment box right now. Guess we should comment more so that your advertisers actually have people giving their ads a passing glance.

Also, there appears to be a Movable Type bug -- I posted my comment and got an MT error the first time, and so reposted the comment. Now I see it went through both times.

What is an "ad?"

get firefox and adblock. Take back the web.
