We don’t have all the details right now, but looks like Portland is losing another excellent record store. Ozone 3 is shutting its doors for good.
One of the first cool businesses to open up on that stretch of East Burnside, Ozone (or Phase Three, or O3, or Ozone Eastside) will be closing, most likely in June. More info to come soon…

Ozone has been around since I was in high school. That's sad that it's going away, but not surprising. Then again, CD sales dropping 20% per year can't be good for its bottom line...as well as being beaten by Everyday Music's massively superior inventory and selection. We just don't need as many record stores in Portland as we used to.
BUMMMMMMMMMMMMMERRRR
Time for a Starbucks there!
(You know, it's bad enough that you've closed down all the Coffee Peoples, but at least try to put something in there quickly....abandoned buildings attract graffiti...)
ozone was so important to my early years here in portland, back when it was across the street from powell's. such a bummer that its going to close. really symbolizes the end of a huge era of portland history for me. rest in peace, homie, there's a heaven for a G.
Oh, this makes me very sad.
this is worst! like adam, Ozone has been such an important part of my Portland experience even before i lived here. I really don't have the same kind of connection with any other record store in any city.
now i am depressed.
