Film HEY, LINE JUMPERS!

Posted by The Unpaid Intern on Fri, Jun 29 at 11:07 AM

Wankers!

When people wait six hours to see giant robots beat the sweet bejeezus out of each other, you better respect. You don’t come in at the last minute, just as the doors are opening up, and pretend your friends are somewhere in the front of the line.

I hope you’re proud of yourself. The little kids near the back of the line? The ones waiting for three hours? They didn’t get in. Thanks to you. Sure, they could go when the film actually comes out—in six days. You know what six days feels like to a kid? A year in Guantanamo.

I bet you tape spots off for a parade.

P.S. This isn’t an official review… but Transformers is like a ninja wailing on a 1961 Gibson EB-0 studded with canary diamonds… and firing lasers.

"The Unpaid Intern" That sounds like a great column name! You can compete with the Night Cabbie.

A ninja firing lasers. I'm so all over that.

The new Night Cabbie blows. If UI is the new Night Cabbie, I'm all for it.

Who's Night Cabbie?

I have had the chance to attend a few screeners in Portland, and in no other venue have I ever seen line-jumping so rampant. It is possible, to start out as #50 in line (Guaranteed to make it in), and by the films start time approaches - you are #300 - not so guaranteed.

I don't know what sense of self-centered, self entitlement drives someone to sneak in ahead of all those who did the civilized thing, and queued up, but I suspect that these are the same people who think Duct Tape is a legitimate way to preserve one's spot on the parade route.

Goddamn PASS-HOLES!

You couldn't PAY me to go to one of those FREE screenings (get it?). You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy and smelly, loud, overweight mouthbreathers.
