News Good Morning, News

Democracy in action! Well, virtual action, anyway. The Democratic candidates for president all faced off on an interactive YouTube debate last night, which is the most irritating way in the world to say it was shown on the internet. BTW, YouTube, huh? Then why can’t I find the debate on YouTube? (Update: It’s here.)

Tony Blair started his new job yesterday, trying to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After his first day, he says there’s a “sense of possibility,” adding that there was also the “hint of a rumor of hope” and “a wisping vapor of chance, maybe.”

About time! The House Judiciary Committee looks like it’s moving forward on contempt charges against Bush’s chief of staff, Joshua Bolten, and his former attorney, Harriet Miers. See what happens when you fire some prosecutors for political reasons?

Oh no! It looks like rehab didn’t quite take for Lindsay Lohan, who was arrested again early this morning on suspicion of drunk driving and possession of cocaine. WHAT WOULD HERBIE THINK?

Doctors aren’t going to lie to you—they found some disconcerting things up President Bush’s ass. But none of them were cancerous.

Six medics who were charged by Libya with infecting hundreds with HIV (not a light charge there, is it?) have been freed after eight years. They landed in Bulgaria, where they were pardoned.
