News Jail Booking Photos

Posted by Matt Davis on Tue, Jul 17 at 11:53 AM

Photos of people booked and released at Multnomah County Jails recently. You can only see their faces, but I’m noticing a common theme:jailbookingsrelease1.jpgCuts/Bruises: Probably nothing worth doing a story on.

Matt:
It would sure be helpful to know what these folks were arrested for. Do you suppose a lot of them were picked up for assault? Maybe the other guy looks worse. I can't buy the idea that they were all beaten up by jailers.

Wow! That's a lotta links. I'll take a look.

Maybe they have a new early release policy.... you can serve your full time or opt for an ass whupping.....

Well, I looked at three quickly. One was disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. I tried that once myself, way back when. It's not a good idea.

Yes, whatever you do, don't fight authority!

Because if the police arrest you, you're obviously a criminal and automatically in the wrong.

Who needs judges these days? Let's just let the cops decide who's guilty or not.

Absolutely nothing to be skeptical about here. The Executive branch, at all levels, has it under control.

I notice a common theme! mostly white men, why are we arresting mostly white middle-aged men! matt there's your next feature.

ok wait, i notice another common theme! men with facial hair! why are we arresting white men with facial hair! descrimination! matt, dig deeper into that one!!

Another common theme: THEY ALL LOOK SLIGHTLY SINISTER. Why are we arresting people who LOOK SLIGHTLY SINISTER?! That's the real story here.

Fourth down on the right looks like he needs an ass whupping.

There's also a theme of facial hair. Not a good guess-who(TM or R?) question for this bunch.

Yeah, pretty funny. Funnier still is that Matt is only a phone call away from deportation.

Best find yet: Curtis Threelegs for Indecent Exposure.

I already mentioned facial hair, T. (or is that you alison?)

So your initial post said these folks had been released "recently" - Matt what exactly is your definition of recent(ly)? Some of these photos go back to 2005.

HAHAHA! I just noticed Scott Moore's picture in the lineup. He blends in so well!

matt, clicking the links and seeing that of the first three, none were arrested for assault, yet some are actively bleeding, this is a really important thing you've picked up. thanks for sticking with the story in the face of weird opposition.

of course genuine resisting arrest has to be handled by the police. but having seen the video of how they overreacted to a guy pulling his arm away, there's, um, room for improvement.

oh, ha. scott moore looks sinister and bearded and might deport you. hee hee. but seriously. this collection of photos is worrying.

Having been arrested & lightly brutalized myself, I think it's completely reasonable for Matt to assume that at least some of these people were cuffed after being cuffed, for talking back or just to blow off some end-of-shift cop steam.

People get roughed up in jail. It's not right, but it's scary to consider pressing charges against a cop. We assume they have connections. One cop banned me from a whole precinct in Seattle after my bruises from his arrest healed.

HEY!

THIS IS NOT FAIR.

Why is it so important that the O runs a story? Why not run one yourself??

What makes anyone think anything will come out of this?

No cops were disciplined in any way, shape, or form from repeated instances of them pepper-spraying and attacking protesters when the entire thing was caught on video.

How do you expect them to do anything about this? (We don't know if the facial injuries of these people were caused by cops or by other sources...)
