I think the use of mini-trampolines in the rock-concert setting was pioneered by Phish. Therefore, in the binary logic so often applied to such matters, this means either that Phish is hipper than previously thought or that AIH is actually a bunch of smelly hippies.

I'm going to go ahead and say it: the new Architecture in Helsinki record is the biggest disappointment of 2007. The video is cute, yes, but who decided it was a good idea to use Isaac Brock as a vocal coach?

I used to be almost apologetic when talking to Rob (and others) about my love of the new AIH album, but fuck it, I'm tired of that: it's an awesome record and you (and everyone else) just need to get over the fact that his voice is different on this album. I was confused by it at first too, but I don't really think it's any worse, it's just different.

Keep watching the "Hold Music" video, and eventually you'll come around on that song, just like you did on "Heart It Races". And then, slowly, track by track, you'll end up loving the album and be telling me how wrong you were. I CAN SEE THE FUTURE

No One: you can keep the new AiH record. I agree, I did come around on Heart it Races. However, that only took one or two listens. I've spent time with this record, and aside from a few decent tracks, IT SUCKS. I want to like it. I really love their first two records. But my love for this band is not going to turn me into an apologist. I'm calling them out on making a shitty record, and I only hope other people will do the same.

I'm going to go listen to Los Campesinos! and wish that AiH never changed.
