Music Stars to play Portland

Toronto’s Stars have just announced a Portland show on November 15th at the Crystal Ballroom.

Although their new record, In Our Bedroom After The War, won’t hit store shelves until September 25th, the band just made news in the music industry by releasing their new material digitally, over two months in advance of the CD’s proper release. It’s an excellent method to curb pre-release downloading, and hopefully more indie artists will start doing the same.

I kinda hate to say it, given the Music Millenium obit written below, but the album is actually available on iTunes right now.

I was going to link to it (although iTunes links are next to impossible to figure out), but thought that when I said "digitally," people would just assume iTunes. They control the entire market, and until Amazon finally launches their digital download service, that won't be changing anytime soon.

They're from Montreal really.
