From Catherine in NoPo:

Portland’s graffiti is just so… oh, what’s the word… honest?

love the other tags that are up in se portland that say: "More Crime, Less Hipsters" (or something to that effect). funny.

I've seen those too, and I don't get it. How's that funny again?

Damn. That's some embarrassing ass graffiti.

What a joke giving these ass holes space in this page. If I ever catch you bitches defacing someone else's property (that I have to look at) with a stupid tag you can bet you're going to get your ass beat, honest.

well, let's see if i can help you erik, see the word "crime" and "hipsters" aren't directly comparable concepts so it's necessary to associate them with other terms to make the comparison make sense.

and in an objective way, hipsters are sometimes associated with fashion...creativity maybe, perhaps gentrification.....

You could argue that gentrification (by 'hipsters') leads to less crime.

So arguing for the inverse is arguing against gentrification.

However, I saw that tag on the side of an old 7-11 on lower Hawthorne.

damn, that tag is almost as terrible as that shtty scribble face that was around town for a while.

I think they mean "more crime, FEWER hipsters"

gentrification in se portland?

tags are tired. let's all try to make sure we pay attention to our children so that someday this crap with the spray paint may come to an end.

HONESTLY!

The asshole who did these tags.....his name is Pinsky. He thinks it's community art. What a fool.
