that's weird... some 19 or 20 year old guys tried to hit me with their car yesterday by knott st. i was going through the intersection (i had the right of way) and they waited for me to be in front of their car and stepped on the gas and were laughing the whole time. i had to swerve out of the way. close one! i hope somebody slashes their tires.

And drivers wonder why cyclist break traffic laws. We are the skittish abused dog of the commuter world. We must ride both aggressively and passively in order to avoid death.

Should we not get a few perks such as traffic priority considering the risk that we are forced to take not by our choice of riding a bicycle but by our choice of sharing the road with people who are not qualified to drive?

That guy should get two counts of attempted murder plus two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of reckless endangerment.

I myself have been chased by a car because I was taking up a whole lane (in the Pearl mind you) and the guy behind me was pissed because I was going too slow (the speed limit). He then zoomed around me almost hitting me. When I caught up to him at the stop light my friend who was waiting (on another bike, he was a couple blocks ahead of me) and I flipped him off for being such a prick. Well he chased us through downtown for about five blocks.

It made me feel all warm inside that drivers are so willing to share the road.
