An excellent new documentary called King of Kong just opened here in Portland, and I join Mercury Film Editor Erik Henriksen in urging you to see it as soon as possible. It’s one of the most genuinely funny, heartfelt, and riveting films—let alone documentaries—that I’ve seen in a while.
So, run off and see it at Cinema 21, and then come back here and read this link (but don’t click it until you’ve seen the movie!). Then, once you’re done vomiting with rage, read this link.
I think I just lost about 20 pounds—all in bile.
I FUCKING HATE BILLY MITCHELL!
And, BTW, director Seth Gordon is going to be at the theater tonight for the 7 pm and 9:15 pm shows. Go to one of those and ask him if he hates BIlly Mitchell as much as I do.
Glad you went! BTW, why are you in SF? When did you leave? When you coming back???
i have to admit, i both admire and despise billy mitchell, and i can't wait to see that movie. several years ago i was getting really good at ms pacman and invariably wound up going to twin galaxies for tips on grouping the ghosts, and billy mitchell was all over the place, of course. he's a cocky bastard, and it seems like twin galaxies uses him to validate their legitimacy as a record keeper.
I moved to SF on 8/11! I'm coming back every month for work (I'll be back tomorrow through Sunday), but I live here now!
billy mitchell is a complete douchebag

Yeah, I saw it in SF last night! Absolutely amazing! And the director was there last night, which was an unexpected surprise. The Q&A was far more interesting than any other director Q&A I've been too. Although I suppose it's all over in Portland now anyway, so my posting this is pointless.
