TV Not-So-Subtle Metaphors for Pooping

Posted by Wm. Steven Humphrey on Thu, Aug 2 at 9:56 AM

So I just got back from a camping trip, and apparently I ate a bad piece of bear gristle or something, because my stomach is a roiling cauldron of acidic poopy. (Too much information?) Anyhoo, for a more subtle depiction of gastrointestinal problems, check out this commercial for All-Bran Cereal. See how many metaphors for pooping you can spot in the background!

My friend Bart got a job in advertising on the strength of a mock campaign for Ex Lax. It featured simple images of big poop metaphors--a bowling ball, a brick--and the tagline, "This too shall pass."

I like the barrels rolling out his butt the best.

It's all so...brown. Even the logo at the end.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

I was just telling my husband - who loves pooping - about this commercial the other day.....I was a little amused and horrified as I watched it....

i watched it over and over. i wonder what freud would say about that?

Does anyone else think that Divebarwife said the funniest thing?
