News Best Time In My Life To Grow A Moustache

Posted by Matt Davis on Mon, Sep 24 at 4:14 PM

A few weeks ago I applied to the Citizens’ Police academy. Having submitted eight references, some of whom called me afterwards to say the cops kept asking them if I’d ever “done anything inappropriate” or talked about it, or whether I had any substance abuse or alcohol abuse issues (hic), it turns out you may now call me “Mr.Gutenberg.”copacademy.jpg

Dear Mr. Davis:

Congratulations, you have been selected to attend the upcoming Portland Police Bureau Citizen Police Academy. The first class will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the Justice Center, 1111 SW 2nd Avenue on the 11th floor in the Training Division’s classroom. Please park in the parking structure located at SW 1ST Avenue and Jefferson Street. Bring your parking receipt with you to class and we will validate it.

Attached you will find the schedule for the Citizen Police Academy. There are eleven classes running through December 4, 2007. There will be no classes the week of November 19 through November 23, 2007 (Thanksgiving break). The first class will be held in a classroom, so outdoor gear is not required. Please dress in casual business attire.

We look forward to meeting you and developing a long-term partnership so we can make our city a better place to live.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kristi Brant at 503-823-0545 or by email at kbrant@portlandpolice.org

Sincerely,

JOSEPH A. SCHILLING
Acting Sergeant, Training Division

Now, where did I put my “casual business attire…”

Comments

Is this the part where we "duck and cover"?
are they going to make you start at the bottom, or do you go right to your own precinct? the "Mercury Precinct"?
can I start calling you "Sting"?
thanks
Patrick

Congrats! You going to buy a gun?

Guns are provided.

Just remember those three words.
