Politics BREAKING: Erik Sten’s Gap Scores 10 Out Of 10

Posted by Scott Moore on Mon, Sep 10 at 5:25 PM

The biggest news of the day was Potter’s announcement about his future, until this afternoon, when news broke that City Commissioner Erik Sten’s tooth gap received the highest possible rating from international gap-rating agency LuckyGap.co.uk.

Sten was still reeling from the news at 2pm this afternoon, though he attempted to keep it quiet so that he wouldn’t steal the thunder from Potter’s announcement.

Lucky Gap was founded by Tim Page, himself a gap-bearer, in order to dispel many of the rumors surrounding gap teeth and to spread some new ones:

Over the years I’ve heard different stories and tales about this trait: A gap in your teeth is the sign of Venus - the goddess of love! I’ve been told. Being gap-toothed was regarded as a sign of a strongly-sexed nature in the Middle Ages as told in The Wife of Bath’s Prologue and Tale from “The Canterbury Tales” by Geoffrey Chaucer. In some African tribes having a gap in your front teeth was a sign of wisdom and in France they call it “les dents du bonheur” (teeth of happiness)! There was even a film made by Les Blank in 1987 called Gap-Toothed Women, which explores different connotations of gap-teeth such as a beauty mark or as a sign of an amorous nature.

To put Sten’s stunning, perfect score in perspective, Elijah Wood scored a 3, Samuel L. Jackson got a 5, David Letterman got a 2, and Esther Rolle, who played Florida Evans on Good Times, scored a 9.

“It doesn’t get any better than a 10 out of 10,” Sten beamed. “I mean, this amp doesn’t go to 11, right?”

Comments

In Les Blank's film, Gap-Toothed Women, some sleazy paparazzi calls out to Lauren Hutton, "is it true women with a gap-tooth want more sex?!"

She stops dead, turns on her heel to face the heckler with her gap blazing and bears down finger pointing on the poor sap with camera rolling and says, "that's right."

Great to see my website getting used. Tim Page founder of luckygap.co.uk
