Music Bruce Springsteen - “Long Walk Home”

Posted by Ezra Caraeff on Thu, Sep 27 at 2:43 PM

Looking tan and leathery—like a riding saddle with a flavor saver—Bruce Springsteen adds to the building hype for Magic (out next Tuesday) with single number two, “Long Walk Home.” It’s classic Boss, and while not earth-shattering, it’s still a very solid tune.

Now THAT's the best thing he's done in seventeen years. That is him at his crazy best, writing a song that seems to be about small, personal things but plugs into the zeitgeist in a way that is nearly psychic. Instead of a sloganeering protest (or anti-test? song like 'The Rising', mastering the obvious) here are a few lines about home and disappointment that nowhere mention anything larger but are nonetheless entirely about the legacy of the war, materially, emotionally, and morally. Terrific.

this is bruce on his best , one hell of a song . god bless bruce and the e street band

the legend grows with each word written, each note played, wonderfull lyrics from a champion of the people. if your not moved by this masterpiece you have no soul. the journey continues keep it coming bruce & the band
