Helmet’s biggest claim to fame was that they were the metal band (although their roots were always a little closer to Amp Rep post-hardcore) with short hair. Years before Metallica cut off their locks in unison, metal acts had one universal haircut, so to stray from the template could be a real selling point.
Nowadays, they are still plugging away, with frontman Page Hamilton being the last original member. But I have to admit, it’s been 15 years and this song still sounds pretty good…
