Music Hüsker Dü + Joan Rivers?

Posted by Ezra Caraeff on Fri, Sep 21 at 3:31 PM

Huh? Hüsker Dü on The Joan Rivers Show? This makes no sense to me.

The band performs a couple songs and suffers through a very awkward interview with a clearly disinterested Rivers. Also, how odd is it that the band (and a 85 year old marathon runner) were booked ahead of Sir Ian McKellen?

The best part is that you can see the boom mic drop into the frame during the interview.
That Joan Rivers Show, so professional.

It makes no sense at all.

Even better - they were also on 'Good Company' (It was our Mpls. local afternoon talk show, you may remember the show from the 'Fargo' kidnapping scene)

what the fuck?

you've never heard of this? fuck.

Mercury: Internet Amateurs

Is that supposed to be an insult? Haha, you don't know about every obscure youtube video to pop up on the ol' internet. Such amateurs... riiiiight....

Of course Ezra and the rest of the so called music experts at PM would think this was obscure. That's what you get when you only hire people who were born after Iran-Contra.
hmm.. I wonder if Pitchfork has heard about this "obscure" Husker Du band?

I don't think he meant it as Husker Du is obscure, instead it's the clip that is that way.

Then again, the guy never says "obscure" in the piece, so maybe you are reading into it a bit too much.

this Joan Rivers bitch is obscure

Also - Joan botches the song title, which is "Could You Be The One?" instead of "You Could Be The One." Joan blows.

I didn't know Geraldo Rivera was in Husker Du.
