Anybody watch Heroes last night? Register your valued opinion below in our comments section. Now, on to tonight’s picks!
• 8:00 FOX BONES—David Boreanaz returns for another season of this fairly underwhelming series. “I knew Angel, and you sir, are no Angel.”
• 9:00 FOX HOUSE—The season premiere of another monosyllabic show, which I believe will eventually become this generation’s Matlock.
• 9:00 CW REAPER— Now THIS is the show you should watch tonight! Not only is it directed by Kevin Smith, it stars Bret Harrison who’s from Tualatin, and Ray Wise from Twin Peaks!
• 10:00 CBS CANE— Yet ANOTHER monosyllabic title, this Latino Dynasty stars Jimmy Smits.
• And if you must… 8:00 ABC DANCING WITH THE STARS—I hate this show, and yet it continues to pull me in like a demented tractor beam. Check out “Cheetah Girl” (aka FREAKAZOID) Sabrina Bryan on last night’s episode. She’s a good dancer and all… but EEEESH! That face has got to go! (Jump to 2:21 to see the dance.)
As for tonight:
Bones - first season was good...fell off real fast after that
House - Same episode...over and over and over again (although, Monk is like that too...and I can't stop watching)
Reaper - looks interesting...I'll give it a chance...you (usually) can't go wrong with KS
Cane - Meh
Ray Wise was also one of the bad guys in ROBOCOP -- which is, of course, the greatest movie of all time.
The Heroes premier is setting up a lot of unexpected turns. I'm pretty pumped for the new season. I agree the pacing seems slow with so many not closely connected characters but taken as a whole it's pretty damn good.
Caught most of Reaper last night. Have to say it was pretty good. I hope they can keep up the momentum. I love that guy from the Loop. Too bad that was canceled, it was the funniest show on for it's short life.

See...I think I've figured out what the issue is with Heroes. Taken by themselves, most of the episodes are rather underwhelming (ahem, I'm looking at you "premiere"). But Heroes (at least last season...we'll see about this season) was a great 23 hour (minus a shitload of commercials) movie. It's the week long (at least) intermissions that suck. So, while I wasn't needing to change the sheets last night, it does have me anxious for next week.
