That is one of the best movies ever. I skipped school to go see it three times (okay, that's nerdy) This makes me want to go rent it tonight!
Erik -- I agree: great film. This is one of the best Mann films, if not The Best. But, I wonder, is it the acting that makes the film and (perhaps) saves the story?
p.s. don't forget your commas. Christ. Comma. This is a good film.
The shoot-out outside of the bank kicks so much fucking ass it almost makes me want to buy an assault rifle and rob a bank...
on second thought, no it doesn't (forgot about what happens to Pitt).
Remind me what happens to Pitt?

I've always been put off by Mann's dialogue. I think he tries to go for that stylized, neo-hard-boiled tough-guy thing, a la David Mamet or David Milch, but he never quite pulls it off. I just keep thinking "No one talks like that!"
