Film Wes Anderson’s AT&T Commercials

Posted by Wm. Steven Humphrey on Mon, Sep 17 at 1:12 PM

Selling out: it’s never okay. Unless maybe you’re acclaimed director Wes Anderson, and you’ve made a series of commercials for AT&T which are not only entertaining, but have the Anderson style stamped all over them. Then maybe it’s okay. It’s okay… isn’t it?

Plus another one HERE and HERE and HERE!

Absolutely not. Selling out is never okay. Never!

There. Now that that's out of the way, I think the reporter one was my favorite.

I saw a couple of these yesterday and initially found them trite and cheezy, but perhaps that's because they were being shown concurrently with the Comcast commercials featuring strangely similar word-smashing neologisms. Anyhow, Anderson has previously played the role of corporate shill for AmEx so whatevs: he'd already reserved a front-row seat for an eternity of being berated by Bill Hicks in Hell. :)

I must say that that readhead who works on Pinoliafourthalupe Street was kinda hot.

Must I? Yes, yes I must.

Correction...that was Pinoliamainfourthalupe Street.

My bad.
