« Good Morning, News! | Main | Hellooooo, 2008! »
Now that Sam Adams is running for mayor, Amanda Fritz is making a bid for his current commissioner seat.
I’m about to file for City Council because I think I’m the most qualified, experienced person to represent the people and passions I care about. Prioritizing the City budget to pay for basic needs before big-ticket extras. Providing services in all 95 neighborhoods. And including hardworking people in meaningful participation that respects their time and makes a difference in final decisions.
She has my five bucks -- and my vote.
I will not vote for Amanda Fritz and I recommend that everyone also vote against her. She is a tax-and-spend liberal who considers other people's money her own -- she will raise taxes on yet more frivilous spending projects. Just read her blog. We need city leaders who will recognize that they must live within a budget and that their constituents have an enormous amount of financial pressure on them, especially from health insurance costs. Fritz doesn't care in the least about the economic pressures that Portlanders are under -- she just wants to raise taxes for her pet projects. Vote No.
What's one of Amanda's supposed pet projects?
Nice points on "tax-and-spend liberal" and "pet projects!" If you'd just included the word "boondoggle," you would have won the grand prize--a crap shack next to a strip mall in Gresham.
Be careful with the Gresham cracks, Scott. You too could end up in the Teddy Bear Parade.
Actually, Amanda is consistently calling for prudent budgeting, prioritizing the city's core missions and an end to trains, trams and trolleys at the expense of city services. That's why I support her.

I’m about to file for City Council because I think I’m the most qualified, experienced person to represent the interests of zebras, including expansion of zebra rights and subsidized zebra paint jobs for all low-income Portlanders. Prioritizing the City budget to pay for more zebra awareness before big-ticket extras. Portland can blanket all 95 neighborhoods with the wonderful look of zebra stripes! And dressing hardworking people in zebra stripes will make a difference to all of Portland.
