Sports Blazers Season Begins!

The Portland Trail Blazers kickoff the NBA season tonight in a nationally televised game (5pm on TNT, they “know drama”) against the world champion San Antonio Spurs.

Q: If the Blazers win this game, do they automatically become NBA champions?
A: Yes! That is how it works. Once the team wins tonight they can snatch the championship ring right off this guy’s finger.

But the Blazers probably won’t win, not tonight, and not too often. They are too young, too injured and lacking the scoring power to win more games than they lose. But they will be damn exciting to watch, and next year, oh just you wait…

I predicted 36 wins for the team, make your guess in the comments section.

Predicts a 24-58 record. Ouch!

I hate the Spurs. They're cold-blooded European bruisers with shark's eyes.

shut up. no one cares.

Fuck the spurs-I'm gonna say 32 wins (if martell becomes a consistent 3rd scorer and roy actually stays healthy, maybe 38?)-luck into another #1 draft pick again, get Oden back, dominate the NBA forever.

I'm going for 33 wins. But I'm optimistic and hoping for even more!

Fun fact: The Blazers have averaged over 100 points during their pre-season play.

Last year the Blazers broke the 100pt barrier in only 24 games. In those games, their record was 17-7. Bodes well for us if we can continue putting up the points with this new faster-pace that Nate is focusing on.

Very exciting season looms ahead!!

35 wins and Aldridge gets serious consideration for the all-star game.

38 wins...
