News Graffitipocalypse!!!

Posted by Matt Davis on Tue, Oct 16 at 1:31 PM

In keeping with today’s “exaggerated threat to humanity” theme, here’s video of Art Media’s weekend graffiti event at SW 9th, posted online by David Mosher—who owns the shop. “Like I told the artists, I had one day of being a rebel,” says Mosher. “And tomorrow, I’m going back to being a conservative.” THIS MAN IS CLEARLY A GRAFFITI TERRORIST:
GRAFFITI EVENT: TERRIFYING, DISGUSTING, BASE AND ANIMALISTIC. ALSO, CRUDE…

Last week, a posse organized by the Portland Business Alliance’s Clean & Safe director planned to head down to Art Media with guns just kidding to “give them a little information,” in the hopes of averting a GRAFFITIPOCALPYSE.

Evidently in the end, after we ran a story on the PBA’s rampant overreaction to the graffiti event, it was decided that the job of straightening out this town’s artists was best left to crime prevention coordinator Walter Garcia and Steve Trujillo of the downtown neighborhood association. No PBA men were involved!

“I showed them our locking cabinet,” says a clearly chastened Mosher (not really. he seems pretty defiant, actually…) “And by the time we were done talking, everything seemed fine. I said I was doing everything according to the law.”

You win, this time, Mosher. But don’t think you’re not on our list. Er…their list. I meant their list. Theirs.

Boring.

I prefer "incisive, witty, satirical and brilliant," Jason. But thanks for the input.
