Did you see the Comedians of Comedy when they came through Portland a week or two ago? Let’s assume that you don’t suck, so yes, of course you did. With that assumption firmly in place, let us now enjoy “The Comedians of Comedy Tour 2007: The Portland Episode,” in which Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, and Maria Bamford reflect on Portland in general and the cold, filthy Jupiter Hotel in particular.
Well, to be fair, we do suck.
I was at the show (yesss!), and I saw what they were trying to do with Maria during that whole sequence. It didn't quite work, but it was evocative of so many women I've met in Portland who do indeed spend half of their time making fatuous generalizations and the other half saying the weirdest shit imaginable and then chuckling enigmatically.
I also saw both Patton and Brian deal with not-hecklers but overenthusiastic fans-who-feel-that-they-are-amusing as well as anyone I've ever seen.
That's us again: we think we're being charming, when what we're really being is a pain in everyone's ass.

I don't think that video player works in Safari. It's ok in Firefox.
