Like I need to do a damn thing to get you excited for tonight’s Lucero show, but just in case you remain unconvinced, here is the band offering up a countrified, good ‘ole boy, take on Jawbreaker’s classic ode to Mission District drinking (one of many, I suppose).

MP3:
Lucero - Kiss the Bottle (live)

Why no one doesn’t write a song about Mission District burritos is beyond me. I could write an entire album about the food at Pancho Villa Taqueria.

Lucero performs at the Hawthorne Theatre tonight.

don pancho (18th and alberta)

don pedro (82nd)

lindo michoacan (34th and division)

eat these burritos or move back to san francisco.

and "el metate" in the mission is the best

But I'm not from SF, would I have to move there anyway?

I haven't been to Michoacan, is it a cart? Veggie options?

And, I chose Poncho Villa because the "assembly line" style and the fact that they have tofu plus offer both guac and avocado, which few places do.

michoacan is a cart, across from the stumptown roastery and scooter shop, between the japanese place and the vintagey store. my girlfriend had the veggie burrito, i don't know about tofu though.

and, the chef from le pigeon was quoted in gourmet magazine this month as saying it's the best in town.

assembly line style? you mean like the fast food burrito restaurant "costa vida"?

sweet, i am there this weekend. thx.

i am not familiar with costa vida.
