Ethics New Phillipines Prisoner Dance Video

Posted by Wm. Steven Humphrey on Mon, Oct 8 at 9:48 AM

THE CONUNDRUM: We all enjoyed the Filipino prisoner version of “Thriller”—until we learned that these same prisoners were being forced to dance (reportedly until their feet began bleeding). And now there’s a brand new video out, which we should avoid it at all costs… because by watching and sharing it, we’re enabling the possibly insane dance-crazy warden who will keep making these poor saps dance until their legs fall off.
HOWEVER.
How am I supposed to say no to such a pop-tastic feel-good song combined with awesome dance moves that make me feel happy to be alive again? If these prisoners are working off their debt to society, isn’t dancing better than pumping weights and shanking cellmates and joining inter-prison white power organizations?
THEREIN LIES THE CONUNDRUM. (Oh, hell. It’s so awesome, I’m just gonna watch it again. Maybe we can send them some Dr. Scholl’s massaging gel insoles?)

What do you mean we?

Creeped me the hell out.

Sorry… I meant the rest of us who can tell the difference between people pretending to be zombies and actual zombies.

Would been more interesting if you had focused and explored the why and how..

Either way, the song is not good, the dance moves are blah, all very fucked up and crazy really..

Manny, check your prescription bottle. It should say "Anti" in front of the word "depressants."

I will check.. hey wait I can't even afford pills, help me Steve gimme some.

Oh, you mean like in that last Resident Evil movie.

Gotcha.

What's the name of that song? Does anyone know?
