STOP YELLING AT ME, RADIOHEAD!
My guess (and please don’t hold me to this) is that the “discbox” with all the trimmings ships in December and the digital download will be available in just 10 short days from now. Also, the band (who are unsigned, by the way) is offering the digital version of the album at a sliding scale. You want it for free? You want it for $12? You want it for 8400 Indian Rupees? All of those are options.
If this works—a self-released album by one of the world’s biggest bands—look for it to be a major landmark in the death of the record label. Either way, it’s still a new Radiohead album.
I think.
*Update*
You know who gets up just as early as I do? Radiohead’s publicist. After the jump, there is some more info on the record…
Radiohead.com is open for business with pre-orders having begun today for their 7th studio album In Rainbows, which will be available from October 10 as a DRM-free MP3 download. Also available to pre-order from now is the Discbox, a special edition box set, details of which are below.
Radiohead's fan service, WASTE, is currently taking advance orders for two formats: the album MP3 and the Discbox, which includes double vinyl and CD versions of the record and a second, enhanced CD with additional new songs, artwork, and photographs of the band, all exclusive to the box. Anyone purchasing this deluxe edition will automatically receive the bundled MP3 album on October 10.
Radiohead are currently planning a traditional CD release of In Rainbows for early 2008.
The album was produced by Nigel Godrich. The complete track listing is:
15 STEP
BODYSNATCHERS
NUDE
WEIRD FISHES/ARPEGGI
ALL I NEED
FAUST ARP
RECKONER
HOUSE OF CARDS
JIGSAW FALLING INTO PLACE
VIDEOTAPE
The extra songs on the second CD of the Discbox are:
MK1
DOWN IS THE NEW UP
GO SLOWLY
MK2
LAST FLOWERS
UP ON THE LADDER
BANGERS AND MASH
4 MINUTE WARNIN
I nearly succeeded in pre-ordering the mp3s last night. And I think I offered them a fair price. But then I got stuck on the "verified by visa" page. That page was lame.
Noone can get the album "FOR FREE" by offering to pay Zero Cents cuz there is a 90 cent processing fee, so yeah.. Not free..
..of course one can still download the LP7 Free.. illegally.. Just sayin.. Wouldnt be the 1st time..
best...unsigned band...EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Why O Why is our U.S. American dollar so weak? The pre-orders are back on the site now. The disc box is 40 pound which translates to 82 greenbacks. I bet this shit is even cheaper in the Iraq. Arrrg!

I was on the site last night and could find the pre-order info.
This morning I can't find the pre-order info.
Dammit I should have ordered it last night! Why did I wait? Anguish! Turmoil!
