Mercury Pizzazz 2007: The Stickiest Show Yet!

Posted by Wm. Steven Humphrey on Mon, Oct 29 at 10:58 AM

For those of you who attended Friday night’s PIZZAZZ talent show, you already know that it was a goddamn laff riot—filled with bizarre and enthusiastic acts never before seen on one stage! For those who missed it, FEAR NOT! This coming week we’ll be posting video of the most memorable acts, including our grand prize winners, the breakdancing badasses MOON PATROL (pictured below), as well as KAZUM (the acrobats), that bloody unicorn you guys went crazy for, and of course, everyone’s favorite… TOMMY “YO-YO CHAMP” MOORE!
Thanks to everyone who attended, and to our great cast and crew for putting on the best PIZZAZZ yet!

Wait… did someone say “bloody unicorn”? Check it out after the leap!

WSH-
I thoroughly enjoyed being a judge at Pizzazz. I had prepared myself mentally for all of the great acts I was charged with rating, however, what I was not prepared for was you. I was absolutely stunned at your fabulous opening performance.

I don't do a lot of "events" around town because, frankly, they are mostly the same crowd with mostly the same menu. I suspected that attending Pizzazz would not be the traditional event I am used to having to suffer through....wow....was I ever right about that.

If I am not invited back next year to be a judge, I will be happily pay to be a member of the audience. I cannot remember being entertained so completely before (my personal favorite was the bass player).

Thank you for inviting me.

It was a huge honor for me to be a part of Pizzazz! this year. I was in it for fun, not money. Kristin from the unicorn/accordian act said the same thing. She was one of many ridiculously friendly, exciting people that I got to meet by being involved with this thing. I felt a strong connection with the Pizzazz! audience, and that was an awesome feeling. W.S. Humphrey - you are hilarious - thank you for being really cool to all of us backstage. THANK YOU to the judges at the audition (who were not the judges at the show) who got me into this thing - you rock and rule!
-Chairman (the bass player/singer from THE CHAIR PROJECT & DRATS!!!)

The unicorn got robbed!

It was still a lot of fun though. Can't wait to go again next year.
