Drunk Tacoma Propane Explosion!

Posted by Wm. Steven Humphrey on Tue, Oct 9 at 12:02 PM

So… you like things that “blow up,” right? Check out this home video from this weekend’s big propane explosion at a foundry in Tacoma, WA.

The initial explosion happened while a delivery truck loaded with about 8,000 gallons of propane exploded at Atlas Castings and Technology near the intersection of Interstate 5 and State Highway 16 around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Not only does this video awesomely show the blow-up from two different viewpoints, the on-camera narration is hilarious. (Apparently we, as a society, have been so deluged by Hollywood explosions, we no longer care about the loss of human life. ENJOY!)

Comments

There was no loss of human life in this explosion.

... don't let facts get in the way of a good blog post. I'm sure there were some bugs and shit that died. Oh wait, he said human life. Hmmm, well, I'm sure someone, somewhere, was dying at the exact same time that mother went ka-blooey.

Nice timing with the post, Steve. I can smell gas in the office.

How could they have known, while watching such a massive explosion, that no one had been killed? Four people were injured, the driver is still listed in critical condition.

The person died yesterday...maybe the day before.
