Film I’m Not There: Who Saw it?

Posted by Chas Bowie on Fri, Nov 23 at 12:17 PM

I’ve already said my share: Did anybody else check it out yet? What did you think?

I thought it was amazing film-making for the conception and execution. The young Marcus Carl Franklin, Christian Bale, and Cate Blanchet were right on the money. But I was confused by the Richard Gere sequences and put off by the Heath Ledger characterization on dear ol' Bob.

Of course I stopped paying attention to Dylan after Blonde on Blonde, until New Morning that is.

And $8 for economy hour?! I am getting old!

oh, and I will see it again. (Which I rarely do.)

the cate blanchett portion was brilliant.

haynes always throws in that what the fuck? element, which is interesting and confusing.

but seriously.. david cross as allen ginsberg? geeenius.

The more I think about it the less I like it.

The whole "You can't define Bob Dylan" thing was interesting, but since when has anybody been trying to define him recently. The last time I thought about him as a person he was hawking his album through Victoria's Secret.

Plus, Richard Gere looks like he's trying sooooooo hard.

It sucked much ass. Two hours too long.
