Portland trivia question: Can somebody more old school than I am tell me where the short-lived venue The Glass Factory was? I saw a couple shows there when I was in high school, but as my mom drove me in from the suburbs in her minivan, I’ve never quite been able to figure out where the club actually was (unless it was the current Rotture/Branx space?). I’ve had no luck searching for it online, although I did run across this kind of interesting q&a written by club owner Todd Patrick (who also owned Seventeen Nautical Miles, then went away to get more famous in New York like everybody does) as he tried to negotiate opening/running a club on a shoestring budget.
thanks
Geez, now I feel old. I remember volunteering to work on that place, which tells you why it had such issues with code -- they were accepting the work of people like me who had no idea what they were doing. But then that gaudy silver back wall showed up in that Sleater Kinney artwork, and somehow that made it worth it.
Was this in the same space - or near - Stage 4? I have a foggy recollection...good times.
Stage 4 was what would become the (first) Meow Meow--5th and Pine?
17 Nautical Miles had some good shows. I saw Botch for the first time there and it blew me away.

That is correct.
Stage 4 was on Pine between Grand and 6th.
Some great shows there.
I meant to go to a lame hardcore show there once and got the date mixed up and Roadside Monument was playing. That was the best mixup I ever made.
