Film Film Stuff.

A whole bunch of little film things that, while interesting, don’t really deserve their own posts:

1) WEEKEND BOX OFFICE! The low-budget Juno makes loads of money in limited release (the frustratingly precious film opens here on December 21), while the mega-budget The Golden Compass (originally titled New Line’s Desperate Attempt to Recapture Some of That Old The Lord of the Rings Magic) tanks.

2) GIANT HEATH LEDGER! Excited for The Dark Knight? Head out to Regal Bridgeport Village theaters this weekend and check out I Am Legend in IMAX:

The opening six-minute prologue of the film, which introduces Heath Ledger as The Joker, will be shown in its entirety in IMAX 2D exclusively in select IMAX theatres nationwide; it will run before the new sci-fi actioner I Am Legend, opening on December 14…. The release of the opening six minutes of the movie marks the world premiere of the first footage ever shot with extremely high resolution IMAX cameras for a major motion picture release. In an unprecedented move, director Christopher Nolan employed IMAX cameras for a number of sequences in The Dark Knight.

3) DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS! Shit! Somehow we messed up, and a listing for Cinema Project’s latest program, Inventing Obscurities: Samuel Beckett, Louise Bourque, and Stuart Sherman, got left out of this week’s paper. Sincere apologies, and you can now find the listing info on Found It!

4) STONED! James Franco does not have time for your bullshit.

5) WORDS CANNOT, WILL NOT SUFFICE! Okay, just two: “Drill bra.”

Comments

James Franco, you impress me with your verbal acrobatics.

Somehow I always suspected that his "character" in Freaks & Geeks wasn't too difficult for him to get into.
