News Memorial Planned For Cop

A memorial is planned this Friday for Officer Mark Zylawy, who died Sunday. From the Portland Police Association:
The memorial for Officer Mark Zylawy will be this Friday, February 1, 2008, at 11 a.m., at New Hope Church, located at 11731 SE Stevens Road, Portland, OR, 97086. Interment (with procession) will follow the ceremony to Lincoln Memorial Park, located at 11614 SE Mount Scott Blvd., Happy Valley, OR.And yes, I promise, that really is the address of the Officer Assistance Fund. I swear.
Donations for Officer Zylawy’s family can be made to the PPA Officer Assistance Fund at any Key Bank branch or can be sent directly to: Portland Police Association, Officer Assistance Fund, 1313 NW 19th Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97209

I have known Mark since he was a little boy as my dad was his teacher and Mark was friends with my younger brother Raider. I am saddened by the news of his death. I am sad to say that I will not be able to attend his memorial as I am out of town working till Friday nite. I had so hoped that the service would be Saturday! Mark was an awesome man who you could not help but like. My sympathy goes out to Patty,his children and his family. Mark will be missed by everyone!
