Election 2008 Steve Novick’s First TV Spot

Posted by Amy J. Ruiz on Mon, Jan 14 at 3:27 PM

Steve Novick’s campaign for US Senate launched their first TV ad today.

What do you think?

Campaign manager Jake Weigler says the ad’s slated to run on all four local news stations starting tonight, and in Eugene. Next week, it will run in Bend and Medford, too. The campaign is challenging donors to pony up more money to buy spots during the Letterman show (“for his support of the writers’ strike,” says Weigler), Oprah (“because it’s Oprah,” he says) and during the January 21 presidential debate. How much did the campaign spend on the buy so far? Weigler declined to disclose the amount, but characterized it as “a targeted buy.”

I love this ad. It's funny and lighthearted and still substantive. It follws the old principle "show me, don't tell me." Just a great ad.

steve has a great knack for working pop culture references into his campaign. i think that will play well with the younger electorate, and work well to mobilize voters who might not ordinarily make it to the polls.

Great ad! Steve is so smart and accomplished. He's the right man for the job.

A political ad that tells the truth in a memorable way? This is great. It points up Novick's history of working for the interests of individual, normal people. You sure won't forget it!

Another great progressive mind and heart in the mold of Wellstone, RFK, Bradley, Edwards and a perfect replacement for Smith.
