Politics Tomorrow Night: New Hampshire Results Party

Posted by Amy J. Ruiz on Mon, Jan 7 at 2:58 PM

Last Thursday night, Portland’s political geeks (including the Oregon Secretary of State, a few city council candidates, reporters, and assorted folks who adore the combination of politics and beer) landed at Venue to check out the Iowa caucus results. Tomorrow night, they’ll be back to see what happens in New Hampshire.

From Jesse Cornett, of Progressive Happy Hour:

Last Thursday’s Iowa Caucus was fun to gather and watch and the turnout (both in Iowa and at the Venue) was great so at least some of us will be back for more on Tuesday.

If you’d like to gather, cheer on your favorite candidate, argue about whether the candidates are technically “tied” for any place, and enjoy conversation with the few of us that treat the presidential primary like World Cup, please come on down. Just like last time, we’ll have on CNN for sure, MSNBC if possible, sports in the mix but still not Fox news. Join us!

Tuesday, January 8th, 5:00 p.m. (some polls close as early as 7 pm est and others at 8, so results should come out shortly after)

The Venue Restaurant (formerly known as Billy Reed’s) 2808 NE Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd., Portland

Hey Amy, is it illegal to bet on presidential races?

If not, then put me down for $25 on Obama over Clinton by a spread of 5 percent and McCain over Romney by a spread of 7 percent.

That is all!
