To celebrate United Artists’ 90th anniversary, it looks like the studio’s teamed up with ye olde Laurelhurst (2735 E Burnside) to show a bunch of classic UA and MGM films over the next few months. This has a very strong potential for awesomeness.

All of these* are going to be amazing to see on the big screen (well, as big as the screens are at the Laurelhurst, anyway), and I’m fucking there for The Great Escape, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, and The Magnificent Seven. Just try to keep me away. You will fail.

March 14-20: West Side Story
March 20-27: Judgment at Nuremberg
March 28-April 3: The Manchurian Candidate
April 4-10: The Great Escape
April 11-17: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
April 18-24: The Magnificent Seven
April 25-May 1: Raging Bull
May 2-8: Some Like It Hot
May 9-15: The Apartment
May 16-22: In the Heat of the Night

*Yes, even West Side Story. I GUESS.

Fucking sweet! The Magnificent Seven is the shit! It even had Charles Bronson in it, back before he started looking like the missing link.

"Judgement at Nuremburg" and "The Apartment" are must sees.

I also love that classic line from "In the Heat of the Night" by Steiger:

"I got the MOTIVE which is money and the BODY which is DEAD"

In the Heat of the Night is one of my favorite movies of all time.

The Apartment is probably my sixth top favorite movie.

The Great Escape?!!! Holy shit!!!!

AND The Manchurian Candidate?!!!

Manchurian Candidate. Just in time for McCain's run for the White House :)

Great Escape is the best movie ever, I'm so there!
