News Good Morning, News!!

Posted by Matt Davis on Fri, Feb 22 at 7:20 AM

1.Tonya!!! The rock opera premiered last night, and including Ian McKellen as King Lear at the New Theater in Covent Garden last December, it’s the best piece of theater I’ve ever seen. It’s destined to be a smash hit, with international productions and a movie deal, so mark my words, skeptics. And read the review in next week’s paper. And for God’s sake, GO, before the New York Times tells you to. Incredible…tonya-nancy-500.jpg
NOT SO MUCH KITSCH: As straight-up awesome…I shivered…I wept…it tapped into something deep within me…like a live version of Dirty Dancing or Stand By Me…just incredible…

2.DUCT TAPE!!! Ban is up for a vote in council next month, announces the Tribune. Apparently there’s some controversy over the issue.

3.OBASSASSINNAMA!!! The Secret Service stopped local cops screening people for guns at his rallies. Now there’s a great idea.

4.BUSHDANCE!!! In Africa…classic:

5.DEBATE!!! Clinton turns nasty to stop the freight train. It doesn’t seem to work. It’s just his time, Hillary. Let it go.

Good Day.

I hope the character of Jeff Gillooly was well represented.

Like, once every year or two, Bush's "folksy guy" act kinda gets to me, and I kinda like him for a minute. It's usually when I see a video like this.

Doesn't take long for me to snap out of it, though.

He was. The song: "When you wake up sleeping in your car in Estacada" was neither belittling of the struggles associated with his socio-economic background, nor too sentimental about them. It was delivered with sincerity and grit. And muscles.

Oh, I'd be the first to party up with G. Dub, but he really should be stopped.

Matt, no offense, but you're insane. I heard a clip of that song. It may not belittle his socio-economic struggles but it is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SONG sung with all the pseudo-sincere American Musical bravado one poor actor can muster.

Now, Jerry Springer the Opera (which just ran in NYC -- maybe still is?), THAT I want to see.
